Can you believe that there are now less than 100 days left in 2024. It seems like every passing year goes past in the blink of an eye. And with each year we like to look back on what has happened and make a note of what has been achieved.
We have no doubt that you’ve already done fantastic work in 2024, but what about a sprint to the finish line?
This week we’re writing about some of the things you can focus on to end 2024 well and get set up for a successful 2025. It’s not a requirement to do these things at this time of the year, any of these activities will be a positive improvement for your business.
Let’s dive in.
Not enough businesses take the time to write a business plan. Presumably because the prospect of a business plan seems long, involved and complex – but it doesn’t have to be that way. And if you don’t have a plan, how can you measure your successes of this year?
Take some time over the next few weeks to write a business plan for 2025. Doing this now will really help you to hit the ground running In January, and put you ahead of the curve of those who are writing their plan then. Don’t worry if it’s not super detailed, but make sure that everything you set out is SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound).
Invest in yourself and your staff
Spending some time to work on your skills and the skills of your team is really valuable. When thinking about the return on investment you get, little beats the investment you make in your own learning.

If you want to have a really impactful end of the year, then think about the skills gaps you or your team may have and take some time to seek out training that will help you fill that gap.
Embed a new system
The last chunk of the year is an excellent time to start bedding in a new system. Think about this in tandem with what we said about the business planning above – doing it now will help you to get ahead of those would naturally think to implement a new system at the start of the year.
So if you’ve been thinking about how to streamline processes, change your filing systems or anything that will need your team to learn a new way of doing things – now would be as good a time as any to get this new system or process bedded in.
Change a password
Whilst the other items listed above may require you to carve out some additional time and attention, this last improvement is a small thing that anyone can do in the last 100 days of 2024.
It’s simple – just change a password.
